Rapid changes in technology and geopolitics have transformed the world of commerce — every company today truly competes on a global stage. The "globalization" of business demands new kinds of leadership skills and richer multicultural perspectives. It also demands a different kind of executive MBA training.

Our Global EMBA Program is designed to prepare today's executives for the new competitive realities. The program develops real world skills that translate into real world business decisions. You'll expand your knowledge of business fundamentals and core management tools. You'll also broaden your understanding of the international stage by participating in an invaluable international residency. In this intensive session, you'll study contemporary international business issues and work in teams to craft solutions to address specific global business challenges.

Each of our seven–week modules is available online. You'll complete two to four courses per module, all at your convenience in an innovative and technology–rich online format.

'The magnitude of upcoming change will be stunning - We are still in Spring Training.' Mary Meeker, Kleiner Perkins, 2012, on the re-imagination of nearly everything - industry, society and careers - resulting from new devices, smartphones, connectivity and user interfaces.

Organizations and careers are also rapidly changing with more distributed and virtual organizations, decreasing average years of tenure and increased number of career transitions.

The George Mason EMBA with its Global and National Defense Tracks is oriented towards executive leadership and success in this rapidly changing economy and career environment.

Mason EMBA students, midcareer professionals in industry and government, are looking to advance their leadership careers in their current organizations; shift careers by starting companies or moving from a large company to smaller company or vice versa; and transition from military and government to the private sector. All have an interest in the strategic aspects of business and being flexible and adaptable as businesses and organizations change.

The EMBA program's goal is to provide students with a graduate education that will help them further their leadership careers in business and government. The program addresses how to achieve success in today’s marketplace and emphasizes a multidisciplinary view of business including building executive level insight in strategy, marketing, accounting, finance, leadership, organizational behavior and marketing.

The Global and National Defense Tracks enable students to have an industry specialization while also being part of the larger Mason EMBA cohort. The Global Track includes an overseas residency and coursework that focuses on the specifics of competing and leading organizations in a global marketplace. The National Defense Track similarly has residencies focusing on the policy, strategy and interactions of different participants in the national defense sector and meeting with DoD and private sector industry executives to develop insights on industry challenges and how best to succeed.

With our outstanding faculty, excellent students, and supportive industry partners, I believe that the George Mason EMBA program is one of the best EMBA educational values in the region and country. The program has a record of successfully educating executives to take on greater responsibilities and leadership roles. We look forward to talking with you about our program and how it might work for you.

MASON COMMITS TO YELLOW RIBBON EDUCATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM

Joins more than 1,100 colleges and universities across country in supporting veterans

George Mason University joined the Yellow Ribbon Education Enhancement Program in 2009. The initiative, which Mason is offering in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), is aimed at expanding higher education funding for post-9/11 servicemen and women and is another example of how Mason continues to assist U.S. military personnel who have served the nation.

The Yellow Ribbon Education Enhancement Program is a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. Beginning in August 2009, the program started to allow institutions of higher learning in the U.S. to voluntarily enter into an agreement with VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate. The institution can contribute up to 50 percent of those expenses and VA will match the same amount as the institution.
