Biography
Arthur Alan Nicewick is an accomplished technologist and educator with over three decades of experience in cutting-edge technologies, government consulting, and academic instruction. Currently serving as a Professor for New and Emerging Technologies at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), Nicewick educates the Department of Defense (DoD) workforce on modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, quantum computing, and cybersecurity. He has developed innovative courses and workshops, including DAU's Cloud Acquisition Workshop and Technical Perspectives on Defense Contracting.
His professional journey includes leadership roles such as Chief Technology Officer at SalusSec, LLC, and Director of Business Engineering at CGI, where he pioneered advanced cloud solutions and technical architectures. He also served as a Technical Manager at the USDA and Data Manager at the National Gallery of Art, contributing to enterprise-wide digital transformations and security enhancements. Notably, Arthur's work has driven innovation in agile methodologies, distributed ledger technologies, and quantum applications.
Nicewick is an AWS Certified Cloud Architect and PMP, Arthur holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University and an M.S. in Strategic Information and Cyberspace Studies from the National Defense University. His global perspective was enriched by his service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana, where he taught Physics and Statistics and supported local development initiatives.
